Manila, Philippines – Philippine Veterans Bank (PVB) and the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) recently formalized an agreement that will allow overseas Filipino workers in the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, and Qatar to annually pay for their premiums through PVB.
OFWs based in the UK, UAE and Qatar will now be able to keep their health insurance premiums updated via PVB’s foreign offices and tie-ups in the said countries.
The collection and remittance agreement was signed by PVB President and CEO Ricardo Balbido Jr. and PhilHealth President and CEO Dr. Rey Aquino, and was witnessed by PVB and PhilHealth officers.
Dr. Aquino welcomed the signing of the memorandum of agreement with PVB and expressed hope that the arrangement will bring PhilHealth’s services to OFW-members a step closer.
“This is indeed a welcome development for our hardworking OFWs who are concerned about making sure their families in the Philippines are duly covered should medical necessities arise,” he said.
Collecting on behalf of PhilHealth are the following PVB offices and tie-ups:
United Kingdom: c/o PhilRem - #204 Earl’s Court Road, London SW5 9QF
United Arab Emirates: c/o Coriner Express Cargo – Hamdam Street (behind La Marquiz Building), Abu Dhabi, UAE
Qatar: c/o Coriner International Air Cargo – Soliq Al Jabor Building (opposite Gulf Horizon Hotel), Doha, Qatar PO Box 11575.
Aside from premium collections, PVB’s foreign agents will also assist in the enrolment and registration of new and walk-in registrants, and in the dissemination of information about PhilHealth’s benefits and availment procedures.
