The highly successful World War II Traveling Exhibit by Philippine Veterans Bank (PVB) hit the road again with its first stop this year at a popular shopping mall just in time for the 112th celebration of Philippine Independence Day.
The traveling exhibit was on display at the Interior Zone Exhibit Hall in SM City North EDSA from June 12 to 23, 2010. The historical exhibit, which has traveled extensively throughout the country since 2006 and last year to Nanjing in China, has numerous vintage World War II photographs, maps and memorabilia that pay tribute the bravery and integrity of Filipino World War II heroes, men and women, who fought and died for the country’s freedom.
The exhibit, presented by PVB and the Veterans Federation of the Philippines, and in partnership with SM City North EDSA, aimed to share to the public, especially the youth the unknown stories of World War II heroes so that today’s generation may have a better grasp of our nation’s history.
Aside from day-to-day mall-goers, students from nearby schools and universities also visited the exhibit.
From Quezon City, the PVB Traveling Exhibit heads to Puerto Princesa City for its second stop.
The exhibit will be put on display at the lobby of the city’s Legislative Building from June 29 to July 18, coinciding with the soft opening of the Palawan Heritage Center and Museum upon the invitation of the Culture and Arts Office of the Provincial Government of Palawan.
