Philippine Veterans Bank is a private and commercial bank owned by Philippine World War II Veterans and their families. PVB caters both corporate and retail financial markets. It offers deposit and loan services, treasury products, trust services, institutional banking and other services.

While PVB was conceived and created as a private commercial bank under Section 27 of RA 3518. This mandate to accept government funds from national agencies, local government units, and government owned and controlled corporations was reaffirmed under Department of Finance Circular 01-2017.

Philippine Veterans Bank is committed to protect and respect your right to privacy. When you interact with us, you share your personal data with us. Personal data refers to collective type of personal information, whether personal, sensitive or privilege information, that identifies you personally, alone or in combination with the information available to us.

This Privacy Notice outlines our commitment to collect and process your personal data in accordance with applicable laws and regulations on data privacy including the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (DPA) and its implementing rules and regulations (IRR). In processing your personal data, we seek to adhere to the general privacy principles of transparency, legitimate purpose and proportionality and such relevant principles as required by law.

Personal information that we may collect from you are:

• Name and your personal particular such as home and business address, birthdate, birthplace, contact information (email, telephone number, mobile number), education, Citizenship and Nationality;
• Specimen signature;
• Business Credentials;
• Government ID details (e.g. SSS, GSIS, Passport, Tin etc.);
• Employment Credentials;
• Degree of relationship with our Directors, Officers and Stockholders;
• Financial information such as income, balances, investments, taxes, credits history etc.;
• Images via CCTV, voice recording and other similar means.

PVB may collect and process other information as may be required by law or regulation, or to provide you the banking services that you require.

The information collected from you  will be necessary in improving and delivering our products and services. The use of your personal information will be kept to the minimum required in order to deliver and continually monitor, improve our services to you and keep you informed about our products, services and other opportunities, such as:

• Account Opening and Loan Application;
• Bills Payment Accommodation;
• Employment Application;
• Response to queries, complaints and requests;
• Send Statement of Accounts, notice, reminders and other documents necessary for you continued use of our products and services;
• Conduct research and analysis to improve customer experience;
• Comply with legal, regulatory and contractual requirements or obligations;
• Process your complaints and case litigations;
• Marketing activities.

We do not sell your personal information to any marketing companies. We may share your information (i) with our carefully selected business partners for promotions; (ii) with our third-party service providers who may perform PVB business operations; (iii) with our account representatives who may work on our behalf and our business partners to send communication; (iv) to protect and defend PVB (including enforcing our Terms and Conditions); and (v) when required by laws and/or government authorities such as BSP, NCP, BIR etc.

In accessing our social media and other electronic platform you agree that information about you will be collected such as you IP Address, operating system, and browser type and version. We may also track your location through web analytic tools and other data such as your online activities and pages visited. We may also keep your personal opinions and comments posted on our websites as a tool to improve on our customer service and track the interaction between you and our employees.

PVB pledges its intention to fully meet internationally recognized standards for personal data privacy protection and to comply with the requirement of the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR). In doing so, we will ensure compliance by our staff with the strictest standards of security and confidentiality. Data provided by you is retained as long as the purpose for which the data collected continues; data is then destroyed unless its retention is required to satisfy legal, regulatory or accounting requirements or to protect the Bank’s interest.

PVB will retain your personal data for up to five (5) years from the date of the closure of your accounts or for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in the Privacy Notice and communicated to you, unless a longer period is allowed or required by law or our legal obligation. After the expiration of the retention period unless otherwise stated above, we dispose your physical records through shredding and your electronic data through purging.

PVB follows strict security procedures to ensure that your personal data is not modified, damaged or disclosed to third party without your permission and to prevent unauthorized access. We have established and implemented various protection measures to secure your personal information, among others but not limited to:

• HR – Training and Organization Development Department (Confidentiality, conduct of internal trainings and awareness campaign);
• Conduct Privacy Impact Assessment (periodically and for every changes in our processing);
• Mechanical and Physical Security (locked cabinets, restricted access to information processing facilities, clean desk, clear screen etc.);
• Network and Computer Security (firewall, encryption, logical access controls, data loss prevention, malware management, log monitoring etc.);
• Onsite and Off-site Back-up;
• Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing System;
• Third Party Risk Management (due diligence contract, access management, audit etc.).

You have the right to access to your data, to obtain a copy of your data, to request their erasure or rectification, or request your data to be ported to another controller. In relation to this, below are some of the activities you may opt to exercise;

• To remove you from the recipients of our marketing strategies;
• To prevent your information to be shared with other organizations we have business with, provided that such information is not necessary to process your transactions, significant nor required by applicable laws and regulations;
• To update your information.

We may charge a reasonable fee for processing your request to access or update your personal data depending on the nature and extent of your request. We will make the information on the fee available to you prior to processing your request. We will try to respond immediately on your request. However, if your concern is complex or there are other request that take precedence due to time, we will inform you that an extended period may be needed.

PVB reserves the right to amend its prevailing policies on information security, data protection and privacy at any time and will post any such amendments on this website. Our policies are not intended to, nor does it, create any contractual rights whatsoever or any legal rights, nor does it create any obligations on PVB in respect of any other party or on behalf of any party.
